That's what I was wondering too... Since I started working at the store, whenever I see huge numbers of birds cage free like that, the first thing that comes to my mind is the mess and how do they keep up with it. It would be a part-time job just to keep up with the birds. It looks really cool, but I don't know if I really could do it that way. | |

| Her profile says she's a full time bird mom. Plus she breeds them. | |

| Quiz: how many Cockatiels are in that room? Ok, my birds used to have their own room and it doesn't matter how often I cleaned, it never look so clean. I think that somebody helps her cleaning (Elves?) | |

| Cleaning a lot of cages a few times a day can take about 4-5 hours...depends on the types of birds and cages. When we win the lottery, we're going to hire someone to clean and play with our zoo (obviously we'll play with them too, but if someone's cleaning their...stuff...they should have SOME fun!) | |

| WE have to clean the rescue cages in groups, usually 3 or 4 people doing it at once. We have it down to a science but it still takes hours, then you have to haul all the garbage out. Its a huge chore. I would love to allow my fids to be loose in a room like that but I'd be cleaning all day and I'd have no paint, no window sills, no moulding.... LOL | |

| My dream house now contains a bird room that is essentially a giant bathroom with a roll-in shower area for cage cleaning and a hose bib so the entire room can be sprayed down at need. Of course, the dream house is unlikely to ever exist but... | |

| Yeah, that was sort of the dream when we were putting the new rescue together, but we had to rush to get in that we didn't get a chance to do what we wanted. Our only saving grace is that all the floors are cement, so they can be easily hosed down. Unfortunately the walls haven't been painted or even sealed or mudded, so getting them wet is an issue. The only area that is completely spray worthy is the Lorie area where John mounted the walls with texture PVC sheeting like you'd put in your shower. It can be scrubbed, sprayed, whatever. We will eventually build an outdoor aviary so the birds can get some flight in during the warmer months. | |

| After watching that video, I got crazy about ... one male adult Cockatiel. Anybody have Tiel to sell? Since I have to wait for Amazon until I move out from here, and there is plenty space for one more bird, why not? | |
