| It's not exactly foraging, but it's not food in a bowl either... It's a toy with half of a small coconut strung upside down on a wire with some blocks and sisal rope. I started by having my hubs offer her almonds in the coconut bowl while he was holding it, then progressed s-l-o-w-l-y until now I can hang it in her cage during the day and she'll eat out of it. I move it around each day so it's never in the same place, and put different sized pellets in there as well. Sometimes I'll even hide an almond in the bottom too! LOL!
If i could afford more of them, I'd get them, but I can't. Maybe I'll take the Hannah route and just buy the coconuts and try to find a way to attach them to the cage in different places, then just put a few bites in each one. The fact that she's not scared of the coconuts is a HUGE thing since she's scared of almost everything. | |
