I had not watched "Top Gun" since shortly after it came out, during my brief stint as an Infrared Engineer at Boeing Military Airplane Company, where naturally it was pretty much required viewing! We watched it last night, and when the Tom Cruise character first pulls up to the Kelly McGillis character's house, there is an empty bird cage on the porch. Then during the interior scene, there is an Amazon parrot in the background, a Yellow-head I think.

Good movie, actually. Aside from the fact that they call "Charlie" an "astrophysicist" when she's clearly some sort of applied physicist or, more llikely, aerospace engineer.

I love when that happens. I watched paranormal activity 3 last night, and there was a shot with a bird cage. It was really big, and there were black feathers on the bottom of the cage, so you never actually see the bird. But still, I turned it back at least 3 times to see if I could glimpse the bird.

In the tv show Once Upon a Time, whenever it shows a scene with Snow White and a bird, the bird is a lovebird. Except, it's all blue, so I guess it's computer animated? Or at least digitally altered.

If I'm near anyone and a bird appears on tv (there was a line of parrot TELUS commercials), I have the need to explain to everyone the species and everything I know about it. Even though nobody cares about birds, I still feel proud.

Great, now I'm going to have to watch this tonight which working on orders!

When I see parrots in movies, I shout out what it is to Husband, and generally start to get my panties in a knot at the usually small cages, lack of toys, and the fact that THAT type of parrot doesn't sound like THAT Wink
