for several winters i worked as an Eagle nest observer in S.Fla,which meant i watched eagle nest all day/every day. These nest were in construction areas and had to be monitored to make sure nesting pairs didn't leave their nest or change habits.Nothing is any more boring than watching an eagle sit eggs.Feeding babies is pretty cool, but watching a hen sit eggs gets old.

GETTING to watch it is cool. HAVING to watch it all day is a whole different ballgame. How long at a stretch did you do that?

Just sitting there sleeping, not moving an inch, and yet I can't bring myself to look away!

SO CUTE!

Now I want to wake Einstein up and cuddle...

I usually did it Jan though Feb, couple of months.Sometimes into March but i was pretty much burned out by then. After the chicks hatch they don't worry too much about them leaving the nest.

We have Peregrine Falcons on the roof of my office building, with web cameras to watch them. The eggs are nothing to write home about, but it is very cool to watch the chicks get fed!

Egg watch is almost as bad as watching water boil . . .
