hi I now have a baby budgie. her name is mrs. blueberry. I got her for my 6 yr old daughter. this is actually the second one we have had. the first one only made it 1 week in our house Sad not sure exactly what happened. Now we have this wonderful bird and I can't say I'm not overly paranoid about everything now Laughing . Anyway I was told about this site from the wonderful lady who gave us this bird. nice to meet all of you

LOL Dusty

Welcome Smile

I call myself the budgie goddess (though I don't have the most here, I really am obsessed with the little buggers).

Just a suggestion about budgie care, I wouldn't keep the cage near the kitchen, or do any hair blow drying or straightening near the cage. You might never know what happened to your first bird, but these are just precautions.

I think your daughter is going to LOVE Mrs. Blueberry. My brother was around 4-5 when I brought home two budgies. He was very gentle with them, and loved them to pieces. Now that I'm moved out, he still asks about them and tells me he misses them.

Hi Mrs. Blueberry! It's good to have you on our forum! Smile

I have to say that I agree - If we have a budgie goddess, Zaza is probably it! I do believe though, that I'm becoming a bit of a budgie know-it-all myself. *wink!* One of these days I may end up challenging her for the title!

You've found a great community of bird lovers here. You'll be able to get any questions answered as well as find lots of people who will laugh at your silly bird stories (and won't ever get tired of hearing them either!)

So jump on in and start sharing and asking questions. You can't possibly go wrong with this group!
