Those yellow-chevroned parakeets are the cutest! Are they kept as pets? I did a quick google search and it doesn't seem like they are pets.

I used to see (more accurately, hear) some of these flocks when I was working at Caltech.   They don't make it out here into the desert.  She sure got a variety, though.  There are two main flocks.

Those are some beautiful pictures!  Wish we had that kind of wildlife around here.  All we get are seagulls, crows, and magpies.  Rather depressing.

These are more like feral life, they are all escapees!  Well, son-of-son-of escapees. 

We get some pretty cool natural wild birds out here in the desert.  Don't know if patdbunny gets the same crew, but we have tons of quail, ravens, kildeer, lots of pretty sparrow/house finches, various hawks, owls.  And on rare occasions a roadrunner.  VERY rare occasions a golden eagle! (We only saw him twice).
