wellll you all know where I stand...The Zons are LOUD, opinionated, resourceful and intelligent as well as having a great ability to adapt to change, and a sense of humor that is equal to the rest of their qualities. I am laughed at and with on a daily basis and it is "no joke" you have to be a leader though or they will rule. I will take them in till I just can't anymore. They have my heart.

Its so great to see someone helping unwanted amazons or any species for that matter. Rather than actually own a parrot I have chosen to save my pennies and travel to see them in the wild. Also what is real cool is to travel to countries that do not have a lot of resources and help with Eco-tourism. They get valuable revenue and I get to see their gorgeous parrots flying wild and free!

Of the birds I have personal experience with I'd have to say the conures.
Of the birds I want, I want a Brazilian hawkhead really, really badly.
I have a friend who is a breeder.

Of the Brazilians? How prevalent are the Brazilians in US aviculture?

Einstein's breeder is one of the only Hawkhead breeders in Canada. Too bad I didn't have a chance to see any.

She sells them for 3,600.

There's actually one in one of the rescues here in Ontario.

What is it about Amazons that you love so much? What makes them so special compared to other big parrots? Smile
