YIPPEE WE HAVE A NEW HOUSE!!

I will be out of touch with the board for the next several days. We've finally closed on the property for the rescue and got the keys last night (and there was much rejoicing!!) So now we are packing, moving and laboring and wil be for weeks I am sure. We don't have cable at the house yet, so probably by next week I will be able to get back on or post from work like I am doing now.

Once we are all settled in, I will post some pics of the new place and show progression as we set things up there.

Nice!! Yes, post pics when you're done. We'll miss you!

I am really excited, we all are. The four of us went into the main house, sat on the furniture-less kitchen floor and laughed as we drank champagne and ate Entenmanns cookies, LOL. Then we went to Home Depot and spent way to much money on probably not even an eighth of what we need. John and Bryan are currently gutting the 10 car garage building that will become our main birdhouse. Removing all the drywall and redoing the electrical, moving around some of the rooms. Lots of work.

Bryan sent me a pic earlier showing that he had taken my brass clover and hung it over the new front door (its a tradition I have, got that brass clover in Ireland 15 yrs ago and it is the first thing I put in my new places) I'm just touched that he thought to do that without my mention. Love him to death.

But...it was after midnight by the time we got back last night and we had to be up and out to get me to work at 6:30AM, so I am half asleep, sore and too excited to be here at work. Took off Friday thru Tuesday so that I can help and we can get in there more quickly.

Bryan sounds like a wonderful guy. Tell him I won't shoot him out at the OK corral! He can join in on the hilarity here.

He will never admit to it, but he is. He's very sweet. And he's going to hate me for posting this here. ("Oh Geez, now they're all going to be corny, ewwwww") Guys don't like to hear that they are sweet. So just to be clear, he can be a real bastard and moreso than not is an ass, but I still love him to death and he will be my best friend forever.

Vikki, I'm so happy for you and for Bryan! And I love your tradition.
Polish people don't move until Saturday. They can move everything, but don't sleep in a new place until Saturday. I have no idea why, but I keep continue that tradition

Anyhoo - congratulations Vikki!! That sounds sooooo unbelievably exciting!!!!!!!! A 10 car garage will make the most amazing aviary EVER!!! You need to bombard us with pictures when you come back
