Well, it didn't start out as a pet. This is the little mouse I caught in one of my bucket traps this morning. A mutation wild mouse. Most of the wild mice around my place are grey with white bellies. Since this little guy's "special" he's been spared being tossed to the dogs.

They've always been encouraged to turn rodents into ex-rodents. I think they just figured this mouse was enclosed for their enrichment to get it out.

Oh no...poor guy!

You can't fault the cats though...I mean...it's kind of what they do. (Not my cat...he has an aversion to anything that he should do. Not interested in birds, rodents or fish. He's really a dog in a cat suit.)

If you caught one, maybe you'll catch another. He was a cutie!
