| I thought it never gonna happen, that I will see Amazon in the store somewhere near Chicago. I know one store 4 hours driving, but I never been there. Have to go. Okay, so today I saw 3 of them: - OWA baby not weened yet on baby formula - YN boarded for somebody on vacation (grown up) - DYH baby not weened yet on baby formula I don't know if we have enough icons, but I'm pretty sure I can't express my feelings in any language I know. The store visit made me even stronger with felling that I want Amazon. I love their not-trusting at the first sign personality and absolutely :"I don't give a crap about you" expression. Owa baby I have to slowly trick with toy, to finally after a good while be able to make her/him move and touch his/her beak. YN was somebody else bird and he/she reacted after he/she saw me petting 'too in nearest cage. When I was ready to leave, he/she said: "pretty bird" and I was melted, absolutely like a child DYH was sleeping and I didn't want to push him/her to wake up. Cute thing! "I'm a woman in love" I know, that you guys may think I'm a little(or more than little) , but I don't care. I'm in love (I'm sober, I drink only orange juice) | |

| I saw two weaned and ready to go yellow headed amazons yesterday! They were surprisingly beautiful, their eyes were so lovely. I also got to play with a really, really big cockatoo. I didn't ask what kind but his name was Cookie and he was SO SO sweet!!! He let me love all over him. He leaned down and put his beak right in my face and gave me a bright and chipper "hullo!!" I squeeeed with delight! Wow, cockatoos are amazing. I spent the rest of my time with Jellybean though. I did get to see the nice lady feed her clutch of baby quakers and suns (OMG)and some Caiques were in the back room. Holy cow, those things are BUSY. One was all over the place. The other hung upside down swinging back and forth. I love birds! |

| I don't dislike amazons, they dislike ME!
My first bird was almost a lilac crowned amazon, but it turned out not to be for sale. Possibly that was the only amazon I've met that actually liked me.
I know what you mean, Margaret. Certain species of bird, their personalities just mesh with our own and we just can't resist.

| Margaret if you are ever going to let an Amazon of ANY species own you you have to be a little You have them pegged you hae to earn their trust or just be willing to play in the OWA species and in the DYH an YN species you have to be interesting and at least be able to ACT like you come first they are very self opinionated must be because they are better mimics than we are. You have to be just down right fun or wear your "big girl britches". | |

| The DYH is the only amazon that I dislike the looks of >.< I think all of the others are gorgeous but something about the DYH isn't pretty to me... still they're awesome birds like all amazons! | |

| That's what I thought until yesterday. Amazon is not often seen in the stores, so when I saw 3 of them in the one day, I gone loca! I may go to that 4 hours driving store one day(it's in Indiana almost), but I know my 'zon will come from Florida anyway And thank you guys for understanding my craziness, I feel like I belong here with all of you | |

I know what you mean, Margaret. Certain species of bird, their personalities just mesh with our own and we just can't resist. I raised quite a few amazons back in the day...once they turned 4 or 5 months old, they just stopped liking me. I guess I just was/am not an Amazon person! So if they mesh with you, go with it
