Setting a Custom Avatar

Near the top of the forum there is a main bar of buttons – Home, Calendar, Gallery, Profile, etc.
On this bar, find and click Profile.

The Profile button will bring you to a page to fill in any forum information or personal information you wish to add. There is a list of links at the top of this page, but below the main bar; click on Avatar to go to a similar page entitled Avatar Control Panel.

There are three methods of adding an avatar. The first is to upload a picture from your own computer. To do this, click the Browse button.

This will open a new window that allows you to browse your personal files. Locate the image you want to use as your Avatar and select it.

The white text section beside the Browse button will be filled with the location of your image. To confirm your avatar, click Save at the bottom of the page. Please be sure to use an image of the proper size – 150 pixels wide by 200 pixels high; 64KB or below.

Once it has been saved you will be brought to an Information page confirming your change.

The second way to select an Avatar is to use an image from a website.

The image could be the forum Gallery, Imageshack, or any other image hosting site. To use an image from a website, go to the website and right-click on the image you wish to use. There should be an option to Copy Image Location.

Do so, then return to the Profile page. Right-click on the text section beside Link To An Off-Site Avatar and Paste the image location, then click Save.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Important~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Images you bring from a website need to be the correct size, because your avatar
will appear EXACTLY THE SAME as the image you are linking to.
If it's oversized, not only could that be seen as obnoxious for taking up so much space on each and every thread you post on, but the picture may not fit and be cut off. If you have an image you want to use but it's too big, you can resize it with a photo editing program, ask someone else resize it for you, or see if there's a thumbnail of the picture available (such as what appears on a search engine).
Please be sure you have permission to use any image before using it as your Avatar.
The third method of setting an avatar is to choose a stock image. While in the Avatar Control Panel click on Show Gallery.
This will open up an Avatar Gallery.
In addition to the page you begin with there is a dropdown box of avatar lists for more options.
Once you have found an image you would like to use as your avatar, select the radio button above it.
Then scroll down to the end of the page and click Select Avatar. This will save the change and send you to the Information page.
You may change your avatar picture as often as you like using any of these methods. Changing your avatar will change the picture shown in the Memberlist, beside each of your posts (including posts already posted), and in your user profile. It will erase your previous avatar completely.
If you wish to delete your image so you no longer have any avatar, check the box Delete Image that appears underneath your current avatar and click Save. This will remove your image from every place it was displayed, including all previous posts.
