| Please respond with your answer. We would need to have enough people participating so that everyone interested would send and receive something for their birds. For those unfamiliar with Secret Santas, or unfamiliar with online Secret Santas, below are the rules and guidelines.
- Names and addresses are collected by the Secret Santa administrator. There need to be an even number of names so that everyone interested sends and receives something for their bird.
- A price point would be voted on by everyone interested. Gifts should be kept within this price range. For example, we could do a general price range for everyone; we could have multiple price ranges for people interested in lower or higher price points; or we could have price points for different sizes of birds since small bird toys are generally much cheaper than large bird toys.
- Once a master list of names and addresses are received by the Admin, in this case me, people in specific price ranges are paired up together. For example, if I were participating (I'm not participating since I'm running it), I would receive the name and address of another member and a little information about their bird(s). I would buy toys, food or whatever for said bird(s) and mail the gift with a card of some sort.
Hypothetically, let's say I was paired up with GlassOnion. I already know GlassOnion has a budgie and a cockatiel. Let's also say that I signed up for a $20 price point. GlassOnion would've filled out a survey about her birds detailing their likes and dislikes. For this hypothetical, let's say Apple really likes shreddable toys and Spice likes toys with bells. I would purchase $20 worth of toys fitting these descriptions. When I pack up my package, I would also include a non-denominational happy holiday card and send said package, with tracking information, by December 5th.
- All names and addresses of those interested would be used only for this exchange. I would have the master list for use of giving your name, address and bird information to another member only. Names and addresses will not be made public.
- Everyone interested would be paired up in early November. Gifts would need to be sent by early December. Tracking numbers would need to be supplied to the administrator to confirm a gift was sent.

I've done this before on Makeup Alley and everyone that participates is generally really awesome. Also, anyone who would misuse someone's information would have their information promptly reported to the appropriate authorities. | |

| Woaah- for a 'hypothetical' scenario, you got it quite bang on with my guys I'm in. I also think it would be better to have one price range for all participants. $20-30 sounds pretty good. | |

| No problem for me:) however whoever gets my gift might have a slight delay on the postage so I would have to send sooner. not sure how long it takes something to get from here to the states. | |

| I'm in! I'm on a horse forum that's done this for about 5 years now, and there has never been any kind of issue or abuse, FWIW. It's been a lot of fun. The way they've handled international is for the coordinator to ask for private message notification of who is willing to ship international. Last year my outgoing one got hung up in some weird customs thing, they apparently could not read what was written plainly on the shipping manifest, but it did eventually get delivered and that's the only time there has been any issue at all. I usually volunteer to ship International. | |
