Does anyone know anything about Vasa Parrots?

Normally I don't like the appearance of African parrots. Most people would say not to buy a bird based on appearance but to base the decision on personality, but I really think appearance of a bird plays a large part in buying a parrot. And quite frankly, I think Vasa parrots are beautiful.

Have any of you ever actually seen or interacted with a Vasa? Most of the information I've found so far is conflicting; i.e., they're loud vs. they're not loud vs. they're loud for four months out of the year. And if you have seen one of these birds, how much do they usually sell for?

Funny you post this! I actually felt the random need to re-read some stuff on Vasas, today.

If the females didn't go bald/ males pop out their hemi penises ever breeding season, I'd totally consider one. I also love how they look Smile

I read that, too. I don't think I'd quite mind the balding female, but I would be concerned that the female would get too agressive and possessive during breeding season.
