You want from minute 4 until the end. The rest is just waiting for him to do what he was doing before I decided to record him. He's been using his molted tail feather to preen the pin feathers on his face that he won't let me scritch for him and that he can't get himself.

Scooter will also use dropped tail feathers to preen, although he insists I scritch is face early and often....

I saw something like that on YT before and I thought that bird was genius. I hope my fids will figure out the same way

Merlin decided today to use a tail feather that was still attached to do the same thing. He grabbed it with his beak and bent it around until he could grab it with his foot, then used it to scratch his neck.
