Shot this short vid for you while we were setting up the new cockatoo room. For those of you who were wondering about the noise levels of cockatoos, this isn't even half of it...

I love them! Also, I didn't think they were that loud... and I had my volume and speakers turned all the way up. The croaking near the end is my favorite! I love you

I didn't find it that bad either.

The croaking was from Brandi, one of the Mollucans. Very sweet bird but very odd. She's terrified of hands and will attack you if you stick them in her cage, but you can stick your whole head in there and kiss her up and down and she will love you to death. Odd.

It is loud, but you do get used to it after you work with them for months. Your brain tends to process it as white noise, which is scary.

I know that budgies aren't even close to the noise level of cockatoos, but the same thing happens with me for the budgies. I just tune out their constant chirping. Whenever someone comes into the room, they ask me how I can handle their never-ending noise.

Well, each room has its own type and level of noise and one seems louder than the next. You just get used to it. There are days I can't deal with it and will wear earplugs, but thats rare.

The croaking is definitely a Moluccan thing, I think. Every single one I've ever been around has done it, and usually more often than full blown screaming. So funny!

And aren't all 'toos odd? But.. does she has a history of physical abuse? It could be the cause of her hand fear.

You know I was expecting to hate it, but I didn't. I heard a sun conure in there! Aww. I am falling for the toos. I'd like a goffin or galah someday- many many years down the road.

I don't remember what her story is, but I'm sure there is some type of abuse in there somewhere, there always is. We've been working with her, so hopefully she will be fine eventually.

Julsie, we do have a bare-eyed. We haven't had any galahs.

Ooooh I played with a bare eyed once. Very sweet girl. She wouldn't fit in my purse.

They are very sweet. Then again, I am partial to every bird we have, so I'm not a good judge. Smile

A clear indication that you need a bigger purse. I always travel with a nearly empty extra large hobo bag.

Here's the inside. Now that I see it, it does look terrible.

Sounded awful when he was crunching on it too, LOL

Sebastian, my Harlequin. I'm realizing now that the three times that he's bitten me bad, its been dark and something freaked him out. I just have to be more careful and make sure its light in the room when I am handling him.

Its hard not to be angry at him, I know he loves me and didn't do it out of anger. I just have to accept responsibility and be more careful.

Bryan was joking that I should get a barbell to put through it and add it to my piercings. I didn't think it had gone through but when I was cleaning it with a qtip, the qtip went through so... yeah,it went through.

That's OK Roger. I'm a girl and I don't even do purses (usually have too much other stuff to deal with than to worry about a purse).
