How should I introduce a shower to Zada? At the breeders she took a shower in an actual shower, so she hasa done it before. I just dont want to scare her and lose progress

Do you have someplace in the bathroom she could perch that's not in the actual shower? Let her see what it's about first and see how she reacts? If she's used to it and likes it, she may decide she wants to be in there right now!

She could probably perch on the shower rod? Maybe? She just really needs a shower haha, she has food on her feathers!

We still haven't purchased new shower perches for the fids (they had lived their life & were thrown out before we sold our old house this summer), so they just perch on the shower rod and the shower door thing (Husband brings both Stryder and Merlin to the shower with him).

Husband can have Merlin out on the bottom of the tub, but I cannot as Merlin bites between my toes (he's not a toe bird) - I am not the chosen one - he loves Husband too much to nibble!

I have seen people make PVC perches for the shower stalls, but we did have one that stuck to the shower wall previously...I'm thinking you need heavy duty for Zada's weight Smile

Try a few different things and see what she likes best!

We tried putting her on the bottom of the tub but she was not having it so we put her on the rod and let her get some steam. She got a litte wet but not much! I will keep trying though haha

I don't like to use the shower rod because ours occasionally decides to fall down! Also if she's at all uncomfortable about the shower, it may be too close for comfort -- it was for scooter. If she's happy there, though, I don't see any problem with using it as long as it's secure.

Ditto.

That's how we do with our fids. They decide with time to join or not. Lucky is scared of bathroom and stay there only when I'm going there and he doesn't want to stay by himself. But when I open water he is leaving as fast as he can fly Laughing Chico stays in shower rod and likes, when we sprinkle her. Budgies tolerate only container with water on the top of their cage...

Buy a suction shower perch. They are invaluable.
