Arthur update....making progress I think

You're amazing Roger, truly amazing. I don't know that I'd have had the patience that you've shown. Hat's off to you my friend.

I'm happy for you Roger!! And for Arthur, he's getting there slowly but surely!

Okay, haven't posted here for a while, and it seems to be really quiet around Paradise, so I thought I would update.

No, Arthur is not yet travelling the world with me performing for the masses, but we have actually made some progress. Lately he has taken to coming out of the cage and wandering around on me. He will start on my arm, then move to sit on my lap or my belly (damn middle age spread!), and then move to my leg. I can get him to wander around to pick up treats left around fairly easily, and he will let me give him skritches almost anywhere, as long as I "ask" first with a finger gesture. No biting so far either, which is good news. No stepping up on hands yet (well I got him to do it once, but not again), but progress is progress.

Oh! Almost forgot! He talks! The whole time he has been here the most he would do is whistle. However, in the last couple of months he has begun to say "Hi" whenever I approach the cage! Our "bedtime" routine has now become "Hi" followed by a skritch through the bars before he goes to bed. He also seems to say it when he is looking for attention as well. It is very cool!

And it only took a year ! Oh well, he was messed up for three years so I guess I can't "fix" him overnight!

Slowly but surely you will earn his trust (silly, as you did nothing wrong, but c'est la ouiseau!).
