Oui allo? OUI ALLOO-OOOO!!!

So, I missed giving an introduction when I initially found the forum yesterday because I was completely intent on just trying to find an answer to my question.

When I first found this forum, it was for the sole purpose of just trying to find an explanation and solution to my wonderful little GCC's screeching issue. Then I started getting replies to my question. And everyone was so friendly, and knowledgeable... and I was drawn in. Started reading some posts and topics just to get a better idea of answers to some questions I did not even know I had... and discovered that I had lost half of my afternoon. The forum has won my heart already with all of the knowledge, help, and just general FRIENDLINESS I have encountered.

I figure, I should likely share a bit about myself so that when I post my embarrassing questions, people at least know who I am!

I am a website developer and business/event consultant. I tend to work from home (for the most part), and have much time to spare. My husband (of less than 2 weeks at this point) works at a desk in some tall building downtown with lots of windows and pushes paper for most of the day, dealing with finances and the like (blahhh) - but in his spare time, he is a pilot.

Growing up I had many pet birds - my first two Budgies were introduced when I was but a wee lass of 10 years - and I have always had a passion for them. After spending the last 5 years without an avian buddy (and the last 3 years talking about it constantly), my husband and I agreed that after the wedding, we would bring home our first "legitimate" child (we have two cats from when we were single). Less than a week after the wedding, Poe - our (now 10 week old) yellow-sided GCC - came home and has been keeping me company and entertaining me ever since.

I apologize in advance as my sense of humour leans towards dry and tasteless, and I often cannot control my sarcasm. I <3 puns. What with my husband being French/English bilingual, I have also picked up all of the MOST IMPORTANT phrases to know, and use them at every opportunity (wanna know how to say "your face looks like an eggplant" in French?). I am eager to learn, and I have confidence that just perusing this forum will give me the information I need to ensure that Poe has a healthy, happy, active and rewarding life with us - but why "just peruse" when we can interact with everyone else and be exposed to such friendliness and helpfulness?!

My sense of humor tends towards the terribly dry and sarcastic as well... though puns are not my forte. I like to tell people in advance that if I appear to be saying something mean, it's likely just my poor attempt at being funny being lost since it's unaccompanied by my slightly raised eyebrows and exceedingly flat tone of voice. I hope you'll forgive me any perceived slights in advance! I'm really quite a nice person! (And TERRIBLY funny if you ask ME! )
