We enter escrow on Monday on a small horse property in the unincorporated town of Acton. Quite rural, but close to the city. It's only 1.25 acres so I don't know if we will put horses on it or not, but it is in an equestrian development, with trails literally out he back door -- our property will back onto parkland. There is space to retire Smint anyway if it comes to that. Beautiful view, and a new home a bit bigger than our current home. Think Scotty and Scooter will like it OK? There should be plenty of room for an outdoor aviary of some sort.

We started showing our house today and we already have two offers, one a little below list from an impeccable buyer and one at list from a good buyer with an FHA loan, which our realtor says is more likely to delay escrow. We showed the house once yesterday evening and 6 times today, with one more showing tomorrow. It is extremely likely we will counter or accept one or both offers tomorrow afternoon. Our home is the third one in our neighborhood to come on the market in the last month and it looks as if all three will sell during their first week on the market. In addition, we had a competing buyer for the home we have purchased. I think this is an indication that the housing market out here is starting to recover.

Woot! That's great for your current house - I know the buying/selling market terms and whatnot are a bit different in the USA than in Canada (I loved watching those shows where people have to choose from "3" different homes...and the condition terminology was not the same as it is up here) - so I'm guessing these are good things for you?

A heating up market would be wonderful for the economy! It sure does need it!

We should be in escrow (deposits placed, only the inspections and loans to sort out. "only" heh) on both transactions by the end of the day. Wow, that happened fast!

I will say I completely agree with you. We have 6 escrows and about 10 pending offers at the moment Wink

That is a gorgeous property! Smile

FHA loans mean FHA appraisals. Ew.

As it is, the appraisal came in a little low. And we are waiting for the septic inspector to find the septic system on the new property. Yesterday it felt as if the sky was falling, but I'm sure it will all work out!
