You could knock me over with a feather, but Blanco actually PREFERS pellets to seeds, at least the fruity pebbles pellets.

Only... he has an opinion even within those bounds -- he eats them all up except the yellow banana shaped ones! The first time I saw that he had cleaned the bowl of everything but those, I cracked up!

At least he's providing himself with his own foraging problem!

On a more serious note, I've been given to understand 'tiels should have some seed in their diet. Does anyone have a feeling for how much?

Einstein also loves his pellets.

For their dried food mixes, it's a bowl of the seed mix, a bowl of pellets. Then there's fresh foods that are also added.

Mine live without seed, except when i'm feeling generous and give them a handful of sunflower or saffon seeds.

Einstein actually isn't a fan of sunflower seeds. Weird bird...

Lesson i've learned,,,,Don't put the seeds under anything you want them to eat,,, they just throw it to the bottom of the cage... it's a waste to mix them with anything. Just put them in a dish and let them have at it.
