| I often see it stated that cockatiels are natural seed eaters and that their diets should contain some seed. In an odd reversal of the norm, Blanco actually seems to PREFER the pellets. If I offer them separately, that's what he eats exclusively as far as I can tell. If I make a mixture and try to encourage him to eat a bit more seed, what would be the ideal ratio? | |

| We have Doppler on about 1/4 Seed mixed in with his pellets. And I still don't know if he's eating the pellets. Poe absolutely refuses to touch them. | |

| We mix ours half and half - I LOVE mixing in the Avian Organics seed mixes with his Harrison's pellets (he refused to eat Hagen after the last pellet change they did in the Winter). | |

| Heh, I take it there is no common rule... too funny. That's two votes for half and half. Maybe I'll continue to let him choose and move the pellets around for a bit of foraging.

| My Tiel Mali is another who prefers her pellets. And she'll take any pellets too (Vetafarm maintenance/nutriblend/south American). She does eat seeds but just prefers her pellets still is a porker tho. | |
