| Margaret's ""Capthappy" is no more...the male killed the baby and my heart at the same time. No need for details just know that Margaret and I have the same deal and as soon as I can, she will have a 'Zon of her own. All of you have been wonderful in your wishes to her and we will make sure she has the perfect baby.

| Ohhh noooo I am sooo sorry for both of you. Animals are never predictable, and we know this, but that doesn't ease the sadness we feel when something like this happens. We're here for you guys. So sorry. | |

| Ya know, and for us that breed them, death is hard to deal with. It really doesn't get any easier. We have a lot of "if I only did this" "I should have taken the baby/egg since mom's not experienced" and sometimes, there's nothing we can do, but we feel "if only I did this" anyway. Josie - | |

| Nature is nature. There is nothing we can do in some situations, even we really do our best. Yes, it's a sad day, but what we can do Josie & Richard, thanks for handling things the way you do. I was so touched by talking to Josie and I feel so sorry, that you had to been through all of that | |

| I'm sorry to hear this When I bred tiels, I moved one thing in the room, and the mom refused to let the male back in the nest box, even though he wanted to go in - they were due to start hatching a day or two after the mom refused entrance. It's so sad when you go through the "what if" scenarios. | |

| I'm so sorry to hear this. "Nature, red in tooth and claw" but also, to parahprase Pascal, "Nature has it's reasons whereof reason knows not". Perhaps there was something wrong that hadn't become apparent to the humans yet... but it is very sad no matter if there was any reason to it or not. | |

| Thank you for all the kind thoughts and best wishes. We're keeping our fingers crossed on the other eggs but Josie had to pull them and placed them with the DYHs after she noticed that the hen YN wasn't sitting them and were afraid to leave them with the Napes after what happened. I hope they hatch soon or the DYHs start hatching and the OWAs should start about the 18th.Flappinhappy isn't and just needs some babies to spoil. | |
