Feral Parrot Flock Empty
PostSubject: Feral Parrot Flock   Feral Parrot Flock EmptyMon Jul 11, 2011 4:37 pm

There are several feral flocks around and about Pasadena. Today, there is a group of Cherry-headed Conures in the trees behind my building, foraging for something. I'm not sure what kind of trees we have, but the sound of crack-crack-crack (I thought squirrels in tap shoes) was noticeable both this morning and again just now on the way back from lunch. I got a few good glimpses and almost got a good picture just now, but as I was reaching for my phone, something startled the one that was in good view and he took off with four of his buddies. If they are still there on the way home, I'll try to get a picture.

You know, I didn't even realize that feral parrots lived in America until I watched "The Parrots of Telegraph Hill" about a year ago.

There's even IRNs in England.

I actually saw two parrots from the SF flock a while back. I forget how they ended up in captivity but the rescue hereabouts has a couple that have come their way due to injury, disease, etc.... they're very pretty though and I want to see their flock fly around...
