When I went to my local pet store a while ago a lady called the cashier while she was checking me out and I couldn't hear what the person was saying at the other end of the phone, but all the sudden the cashier was like "no you cannot bring back your bird and get a full refund if he/she doesn't talk". I was like Shocked. Anyways I had to tell this story to someone. Very Happy

It's annoying when people do that. It's like getting rid of your cat because it doesn't like being on your shoulder or doesn't like catnip.

I volunteer at a cat shelter, and I've met a couple shoulder cats there. I've heard of more (Moa's dad's cat included now!). I LOVE them!! My favorite cat at the shelter liked shoulders.

Actually... My boyfriend's oldest cat tries to mimic him when he tells her "I love you." For the longest time I refused to believe she was even a cat because, while she doesn't actually say the words (obviously), she mimics the intonation almost exactly.

I've had shoulder cats and while its not speech, my tuxedo does talk back when I talk to her... in her own language of course.

Funny as it seems, I've known several cats that liked shoulders. It's "up high" and if you know cats...the top of a bookshelf or cabinet is HEAVEN.

Sagira likes to be held like a baby....no lie, paws over my shoulder and everything. He's too big to get up there and sit though. LOL
