| The new parakeet that my grandma got died last night. I guess what happened was that he was playing with his wooden toy when he got his foot stuck on the twine that was hanging from the roof so the toy would stay in place, it then rapped around the parakeets neck and died. My grandma noticed that the twine was around his neck and cut the twine off his neck. She gave him CPR, but it was too late for him. Please be careful what you put in their cage and ask the people at the petstore what is OK for them to be around, or ask anyone on this site. Thank you. | |

| So sorry for your grandma's loss.
Sometimes freak accidents happen so she needs to not be hard on herself. I've had my own hair wrap around small toes and take the toes off. Just saying - we try our best so don't feel too guilty (if she's feeling bad). | |
