It should. Loss is just a reality.

It should. Loss is just a reality. there's an add on craigslist right now for a macaw lost in free flight. the guy makes it sound like he put a TON of work into training with the bird, too, and that the bird had been flown free flight for quite a while prior to being lost. There are just too many variables in it for me to do myself I think but it does sound really amazing. When my flighted cockatiel escaped for a week I was surprised (And really really really happy!) that I got her back, especially since I never did any recall lessons with her or any training at all actually...

| For the aviator harness, there are flight lines. It may not be the same as complete free flight, But I think it's pretty close.
If I were to lose any of birds, I don't know what I would do. Canada is an unforgiving place for parrots.

| Moa - Is it a parrot named Cecil? If so, yeah, the guy's very experienced w/ FF. There's some speculation that someone with a Lincoln Navigator nabbed the bird.
That's always been one of my greatest fears w/ FF - a do-gooder (or do-badder!) nabbing a nice tame bird and not giving it back.
I've lost a conure doing FF. I trained it. I only hope that someone nabbed it and now has a nice pet.

I still feel sort of guilty since I found my first bird flying outside. She was tame and obviously loved prior to being lost and though I did my best to find the owners then, now that I know more about birds I can think of so many more things I could have done. I got a great pet by finding her but I just hope no one was missing her too badly =/

| Seriously, I don't understand idea of free flight. The bird, even the most social, is still THE BIRD! And people think, that nature can be socialized to the level they want to, ech...
