| Mac truck slamming on its brakes. . . very, very, very loud.
Some can be aggressive. . . it hurts.
Some are neurotic mutilators/pluckers - is this one?
Most are very snuggly and sweet, but some aren't.
I like them. For a too, I think they're easy to deal with. They seem very in tune to your emotions. Most birds are, but the M2 seemed to care. When I was in labor w/ EC at 2 a.m. I was sitting in the living room thinking all the birds were going to start screaming and I just couldn't deal with that. I said something about, "Please guys, don't scream." and the M2 said, "Shhhh. .."
My prior one used to play tag w/ me in the yard. He also used to call the dog and feed the dog. Very sweet bird that anyone could handle. But he didn't start out that way. When we first got him he hated me. Hunted me down to bite my feet. He was a mature male about 5 or 6 years old.
What's the history on the one you're considering?

| *Sigh* Other people get offered birds as rehomes and get to consider it. I got offered a OSA and didn't even get to consider it because of my husband. It sucks having a spouse be opposed to something you love sometimes. I hope this works out for you Dusty! | |

| If the wife says yes, go for it!
Loud and messy are a given.
Teach it to play independently and not have to cling to you constantly and you'll be in pretty good shape.

| Forgot to add - DESTRUCTIVE!
That big honkin' beak wields a lot of destroying power so don't let it near anything that would kill you if the bird chunked it in one bite. . . like any family antique furniture.

| Of all the toos, Moluccans are a tad quieter and calmer. Kind of like parrots, the larger they are the more docile. Very snuggly birds and very sweet, but yes, can be noisy, messy, nasty.... just like any other bird. You just have to take it in and see. Keep us posted and we want pics! | |

| I hope you get a sweet bird that whispers like Stacie.....I have adopted quite a few birds that "bite", hate this that or the other....won't (endless list). For the most part I have found if you adopt them with an open heart and and a willingness to accept them, they seem to turn out to be more of what you HOPED you'd get instead of what you FEARED you'd get. Don't forget they are scared, and don't know you either. I hope you hit it of and have no issues and your wife is wonderful | |
