| Just popping in to say hello to everyone and thank Vikki for telling me about the forum. I'm the proud owner of A Helping Wing along with my husband John (I'm Jeanne by the way). As Vikki had mentioned we are in the process of purchasing a 25 acre farm in Blairstown, NJ so that the flock has more room and I have a house with only personal birds in it. We currently have a large number of birds ~ some sanctuary (x-breeders), some LOUD, some adoptable. We will be resuming adoptions at some point in June 2011 and will be looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of the rescue. Time for me to get chopping...birds are waiting for breakfast. Looking forward to getting to know everyone....follow us on facebook as well www.facebook.com/ahelpingwing | |

| Hi Jeanne, so glad you joined us here, perfect to get in on day two so you can share in the excitement here. I plan on adding a lot of extra areas (Jeanne and I looked over the site last night and she suggested a few) so hopefully in no time at all we will be swarming with activity and will make tons of new friends and connections and be the best parrot forum on the interwebs! | |

That's the playroom and the staff hang out room and visitor area. When we are not feeding or cleaning, that's where we spend a lot of our time. | |

| You're not a bad guy, Richard... I know you are joking when you say that but hope you don't think that I feel that way about you. I know I have a chip on my shoulder about breeders, mostly because the ex-breeders we get are in such poor condition that it makes my heart hurt, but in all bad things, I know there are good people in your line of work that do care and treat their babies well. Problem is that the ratio of good to bad breeders is not a good one. Maybe that's something we can all change with a bit of education and common sense. Kind of like the way I would love legislation to be able to weed out the rescue scammers that give us a bad name. | |
