Need prayers

My baby cat, Maxx, is going to the vet today. Over the last two days he's gotten really quiet, sleeping a lot and not the active, ornery kitty he normal is. (He just turned 3). Last night I noticed he had a lot of trouble getting up on the bed, like he had no strength in his hind legs. When I picked him up, he was kind of limp and whimpered a bit. He's very lethargic. When he jumped off the bed, his hind legs buckled and he kind of hobbled and walked away. No limping, just as if his legs were asleep. I put him on the bed and brought him food and he ate like a pig, so no issues there. I'm hoping its a bladder or kidney infection, something that can be treated with antibiotics. If its something serious like leukemia or something neural, there's no way for me to afford that kind of treatment and I would fear the worst.

Trying to stay positive. He has a 4:00 appt. Will let you all know.

I think he's going to be fine. Considering he took a healthy pee on the counter, the doctor kind of discounted kidney problems. But, to be safe, took blood to be tested. Found at that time that he was infested with fleas, so he gave him a shot for that and a few months supply of frontline for him and the other cats (and now I have to bomb the house). Poked and prodded and said he more than likely pulled a muscle or perhaps got a nail in a nerve while roughhousing with one of the other cats. So he got an anti-inflammatory shot as well. They had to bathe him since he was covered in pee (he's a long hair tabby mix, so it was a tad messy) and after that he perked up quite a bit. Just let him out of the carrier and he jumped down and went straight for the food. That's my boy.

Said to give him a couple of days and if he was still wobbly or got worse they would take x-rays but that he didn't feel anything wrong in his legs or hips.

Hoping he's going to be fine! He's a very young cat. Is he confirmed FIV, FeLV neutral? If so I'm betting he'll be right as rain soon. Cats are so good at hiding problems that the often seem really bad by the time we notice them, so I'm sure something was bothering him quite a lot. When will you get the bloodwork results?

He was tested for leukemia and all that when he was a baby. My Russian Blue, Chiana, died suddenly 3 yrs ago and that was the cause. No symptoms, nothing wrong, she just twitched and went limp, like a seizure. So when we got Maxx a few weeks later I tested for everything. Doctor said he looked healthy enough and aside from the obvious, he should be fine.

I'm glad he seems well now

I laid him on my bed after we got home around 6PM and he didn't move til I got up this morning. Poor groggy baby. But he got up, albeit slowly, used the litter box and then laid down next to the food to drink and eat. I guess standing is still too painful. Just texted Bryan and he said maxx seems well enough if not still a bit slow. I think he will be fine.

Oh dear, I prayed for you and Maxx just now. Please keep us posted. I'm still so raw, I hope nothing happens... I don't know if I could bear something else bad happening in our little community.
