| I love my budgies. I always thought I'd enjoy breeding them, but I never anticipated how much I'd enjoy just sitting in my bird room just watching them. Honestly, if I only had one pair, I don't know that I'd enjoy them like I do now, but as it is, it's like I've got 14 television screens playing BUDGIES! LIVE! all day long. If one or two or three are asleep, in the nestbox, or just sitting and staring, I've still got 11 other pair of budgies to look at that are allopreening, allofeeding, fussing at each other, swinging, shredding, flirting with their toy, fertilizing eggs (That makes me happy!), flying around in their cages, feeding their babies, or just doing whatever it is that budgies do. They're all so individual, and I've spent so many hours just sitting and watching them already, I can now tell within about five minutes if a pair I put together will be hitting it off quickly, if it'll take them time, or if it's just never going to work. I mean, never is a looonnnnnggggg time, and if you pair birds up long enough, eventually they'll do the deed, but I'd honestly like my birds to be happy together. I think happy parents make happy babies. I'm already starting to see it at work in my little nursery. Hee hee hee!!! Right now, I'm watching Nora, my grey English hen try and get on the swing. She wants to swing so badly! But she cant figure out how to get on the swing while it's swinging and if she stops the swing to get on, she can't figure out how to make it start swinging when she's on it! Bless her heart! I know she loves swinging, I've seen her on the swing in another cage... that's why I put the swing in the cage she's in. She needs a man so bad, I just haven't found the right one for her. I'm really picky about who I'm going to put her with - not just anyone will do for her, so she's stuck in the hen house. Poor Nora. And one of my males, Vinnie (he's the one that looks like one of Zaza's birds), is going thru the molt from hell. He was practically bald on top of his head for about four days, and then the pin feathers started coming in and he looked like a porcupine! He was sooooooooooooooooo cranky! I really felt sorry for Beth - the sweet little hen who he's been paired up with. He wouldn't let her come near him! I'd frequently find her hanging upside down from the top of the cage just staring at him like he'd lost his mind... which I'm sure she thought he had! Despite throwing away half the seed I give them every day and needing to vacuum enough feathers to build another bird EVERY DAY, I still just love them. They're my sweet little budgie gang and I really think my life would be less full without them in it. <--- Me and my budgies | |

| I promised myself there will be always one budgie in the future with us. One will need a pair for sure, so two will be! More of them in the living room we both can't stand for a long term. Three of them right now can be more noisy than 2 tiels and amazon together Besides that, I love them too! | |
