Obsessions

Okay... So I harbour many obsessions and interests. Some awesome. Some horribly quirky. I decided that to help everyone get to know me better, and to help me get to know them better I should lay it all out there, and hope that others will do the same! (I still see new threads and get nervous about what to post when everyone is involved in their own conversation up to when I come in and read it)...

I am a geek. Like all out-total-complete-in-over-my-head geek . I play Dungeons and Dragons. And Magic the Gathering. And my favourite way to interact socially with people is around a big card table playing some geeky game.

I crochet! Can't knit for my life, though. And I sew... and I make dreamcatchers.... I like crafts .

I LOOOOOVE cooking - but never dinner, when I HAVE to cook it just seems like work and I'm not interested.

I am also a tattoo enthusiast! Tattoos. Or, at least well done, GOOD tattoos. Some tattoos are just terrible, or inappropriate, or... dumb.

Also, coffee.

Wouldn't a swarm of dire silverfish be absolutely a nightmare to a magic caster with a pack full of scrolls? I think that would get the DM hung up by their toenails. . .

Bahahahaha! This past summer the DM actually had us facing a swarm of dire canker worms....

I have an obsession with supporting ethical industries (and boycotting most commercial meat/dairy products with mad passion) and being healthy! I'm constantly buying vegan organic food items and cooking healthy meals. I also research a lot into skin care and buy expensive skin care products and treatments... I'm a health freak! I also like to vaporize w**d as a hobby.

Oh yeah, I love tattoos and piercings, I have many! And my profession... Obsessed with movies and movie sound/music.

I have a "few" tattoos... fewer piercings. I'm terrified of piercings - they hurt WAY too much! .... *rolls down sleeves to cover tattoos*...

I've always wanted a tongue piercing but I just can't get myself to do it!! My fiancé got his pierced a few years ago and I remember he couldn't talk for like 3 days...

I shuddered. Eyebrows I could do. I actually WANT a vertical lip one day (when people in my line of work become more accepting of them). I could do ears. But TONGUE? TONGUE?! I get all sqeemish.

I did have piercings...then I got birds. Actually, I'm saving an extra few dollars to get my nape pierced. My guys don't spend very much time near my neck, and my body is really good with piercings, so I think I should try it.

I've got only two tattoos. A dragonfly on my arm, and a music design on my leg. My parents have LOADS of tattoos, so they aren't really that taboo for us. I'd love to get parrot foot prints done, alone with a snake and some type of dragon. But I have my entire life to get those done.

My personal obsession, besides parrots and animals, is feminism and social justice. Feminism really has a bad reputation. People have their biases and prejudices against it, and its my personal mission to reclaim feminism as equality and fairness.

I'm also a bit of a movie buff. Probably not as hard-core as miss Anita, who is working in the industry, but I do love a good show.

I'm friends with a lesbian couple, and over the holidays they got their tongues done. They said it was relatively painless, and the worst part was the clamps.

Yeah but WHAT if your birds rip it out? Apple pulled out my second nose piercing in 3 months.. I keep buying them and he keeps pulling them out in a flash.

I figure, as long as you're prepared for it to reject in time then it's fine. My navel started rejecting at one point, and it is the most UNCOMFORTABLE thing! Luckily, one of my close friends was a piercer at the time, and hooked me up with some special jewelry and cleaning solution. That was 3 years ago. I still have my little bit o' rock (this is what I call my navel piercing, as I always put jewelry with band logos in it)

I have 5 right now, and my first one was just over a year ago. The next one is scheduled for March 17th - the "wedding" tattoo. So far, I have both forearms done ( flowers - one for each parent), a back tattoo that is hard to explain in text, a fish on my ankle, and a flower on my foot.

Eck, that must be weird. My friend's navel barbell rejected and it just painlessly popped off, literally.

I wish. It got all red and itchy, and started pushing forward.... Not a pleasant experience. At all.

Haha. Yeah. I get tattoos to mark major events/people/ideas that have happened in my life. So, since we were married in January, the hubby and I are both going in to get tattooed in March. It will be #6 for me, #1 for him (I'm so proud!). I'll be getting a heart made of puzzle pieces with some "wintery" elements, he'll be getting a puzzle piece (I know! We're corn dogs!).

My forearm tattoos are in memory of my parents, left arm was my dad's favourite flower (Peace Lily) with "I'm Fine" scrolled across it. Right forearm is my mom's favourite flower (rose) with "Believe" scrolled across.

The back, ankle and foot are all from different stages in my own life and realizations I came to about myself.

I like em!

I got my first piercing and tattoo at 13. I just got my nose redone.

I have a migraine right now so I have nothing else to add at the moment.

I sold a conure to a tat artist. He'll happily trade tats for another bird. I'm trying to talk EC into it.
