Those are Lorikeets, called Loris for short. They're nectar eating birds. I'm not sure which sub-species they are exactly, there are a few. I've heard they're messy birds! Lol

If it weren't for the poop...they are very high energy, bouncy, playful, and loving parrots...but that whole liquid diet - we scrubbed those cages 2-3 times a day to make it easier!

I hear they make great pets, but they are messy! They squirt like hummingbirds, and almost have to live outdoors unless you are willing to haul the cage outside daily for a hosing as well as protecting the floor and walls around it!

They're really hyperactive from the one I met... + projectile poop = no lory for me.

Golem (black lory I named and was THIS close to buying...one of only 2 parrots I raised at the store who broke into my heart) would chase after me, saying, "Wheeee Wheeee, Wheee, wheeee!"
Then he'd climb up and give me a big paintbrush tongue kiss.
His hopping cracked me up.
