| Hi everyone, Im a new bird owner (Ive never had birds before until about 3 weeks ago). I never thought Id own a bird until a person called the zoo I work for claiming one of our collection birds was in his front yard. He drove the bird to our park and it turned out to be a cute little budgie. He refused to take the bird back and so here I am with a new pet, lol. I also adopted a cockatiel about 4 days ago to be a companion for my budgie and for myself. I fell head over heels for my new tiel. Hes a complete sweet heart (but hes also only two months old so that helps). My budgie, Shiva, thinks she is royalty. Shes semi-tame so she only sits with you when it is convenient for her. She also very amusing, her favorite music is Alice In Chains or anything with a heavy rock influence. My tiel, Loki, is a lutino morph, and is about 2 months old. The poor little guy has already been severely tortured by vets. I had him DNA sexed the other day so hopefully I will know if he is actually a boy (my vet thinks he is) and he also had feather lice (gross!) so he got a nice dusting (and he got every test known to man to make sure he is healthy). Hes very easy going and well behaved. He isnt scared of my 3 cats or my very large dog. Hes also very smart (i surprised me) he already knows "step up" "shoulder" and "perch". I have discovered he has a very bad habit of chewing anything that is metal (my earrings, rings and the piercings in my lip and neck). So anyways Im rambling....
