| Wow neat cages for a little guy. I personally like cage one. It has storage space underneath and I think, the tray is seperated from the cage, which I also think is a lot more sanitary. A parakeet will have more than enough room in any of them. | |

| I would also go with cage 1. Maybe others can chime in here but I would be worried about cage 3 because of the galvanized metal mesh. I am not sure that galvanized metal is all that good for birds. However, I could be wrong. Anyone.....Anyone.....Bueller......Bueller? | |

| That one looks okay too, as long as you deal with the rust around the food doors (bad place for rust!). The shape is nice. I am not a fan of white cages, but that is me (I find them harder to see into the cage to see what is going on).
You need to decide what is best for your bird and you. If it were me, I would still likely go with cage one, mainly due to the rust.

| I agree, I'd go with cage one. I'm familiar with those cages. They hold up well and are good space-wise. Cage two looks like it has more room than it actually does. Vertical cages have less usable room than you think they have. I'd stay away from cage three unless you've researched the wire issues and from cage four unless you're able to deal with the rust. Cage four also has an arch top. I've come to hate them - they're awful for hanging toys on. | |

I have done my research and many people in my family have made their own cages. The rust would be hard to deal with, so I will prob. buy the first cage.

Anyone.....Anyone.....Bueller......Bueller? Roger, the galvanized wire can be a problem. It has to do with the order in which the galvanization and welding takes place. In one case it's safe and in another it exposes the birds to the heavy metal toxins. There is a way you can tell, I'm just never able to remember what it is.

| GAW, galvanized after welding. That's what you want. Less toxic then welded galvanized wire, which will "break down" quickly at the welds.( but is cheaper). The welds (burned Zinc coating) will be much more accessible to the birds. | |
