I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING Embarassed

I am moving to California soon. December 13th.
I have no idea how I am going to get Zada there.
I bought my ticket for Delta airlines, talked to a person, they said I could bring Zada on the plane with me and have her on my seat if I paid extra.
I called again and was told I had to have her under the seat.
Zada is obviously too big to fit under the seat.
So I called to see if I could have her as cargo. They said yes. But the cargo area isn't temperature controlled.
So now I dont know what to do.
I have no idea what I am doing. And I am not getting any help from my parents.
I have no clue what to do.

Hopefully Capt comes on and has suggestions for you.
Yeah, a lot of times breeders won't ship at this time of year because of temperature concerns.

Only thing I can think of is drive Zada to CA at this time of year. But I really wouldn't trust some one with no bird knowledge to drive her if you can't be on the trip.

There should be a temperature controlled cargo space for pets. I think the concern with time of year is for getting two and from the plane. It's always VERY cold at flight altitude. You would want her to travel the same way a dog or cat would, and most airlines have accommodation for that.

You might want to look into pet transport services. There is one out of LA called Jet Pets, that I have used with bringing a horse from New Zealand.

Here is their website: http://www.jetpets.com/small-animal-shipping/

They only ship OUT of LAX, but might be able to put you in contact with a company that could help.

You may also be able to buy a seat for Zada and use a belt-in carrier, but I expect that would be pricey.

Can your vet or breeder or a local store help you out with making arrangements?

You need to talk to the air cargo people at Delta. They ship animals all the time. The issue with temp is the time they spend on the tarmac waiting to load unload, too hot/cold they won't freight pets.
