I've been asked previously about finding users by species. Because we've added species groups, we can now go to the "Members" tab in the menu bar and sort the users by "group". Because members are generally members of the groups related to the birds they own, you will have a list of members that have a particular species.

For those of you who haven't noticed our user groups or our pretty colored user names, there is a Legend at the bottom of the page. Click the group name and send a request to join.

If we're missing a group for your species, comment here and we'll add it.

I don't personally have any of these species, but I have a few suggestions.

Instead of Bourke's, perhaps you should label it "Neophema". These are grass parakeets that include the Scarlet-chested Parrot and the Scarlet-chested Parrot (also known as a Splendid Parrot).

Also, for Indian Ring Necks, they belong to the family Psittacula, which includes many common pet parrots like the Alexandrine Parakeet, Plum-headed Parakeet, Derbyan Parakeet, and the Moustached Parakeet.

You are also missing parrotlets, lorikeets, kakariki, and Rosellas.

I think you should also add soft bills, which are doves, finches, and canaries.

I feel a bit responsible for that mess. I made the last 2 species: Bourke's and Lineolated after watching profile of one new user.
Maybe it would be more clear and less messy to leave the most popular, and for all the rest make: "Others".
It's impossible to make group for every specie...

Instead of Neophema, do "grass parakeets/misc parakeets". The bourkes are no longer neophema.

If you want to change it, feel free. But I'm wondering how many people really know the classifications beyond basic "parakeet", "conure", "amazon", etc.
