Top Ten Reasons Why Birds Are Better Than Kids

Before anybody gets offended, I'm a kid, and I've got three kids of my own whom I love very much. But lets face it... some days are better (or worse!) than others!

10. Birds don't argue ... at least not very well ... or in English ... usually.

9. You don't have to buy new clothes every season for your growing bird.

8. You never have to worry about your bird failing out of High School.

7. No Avian college fund.

6. No wedding expenses.

5. No wild-bird parties while you're out of town where your house gets trashed and $800 worth of alcohol from your bar mysteriously disappears.

4. No 2:30 a.m. calls from the local police department saying that your bird has been flying while intoxicated.

3. No outrageous flight insurance for young cocks.

2. Very few unplanned pregnancies, and those that DO occur are usually really exciting!

And the best reason birds are better than kids?

1. It's really easy to get a bird to leave home and fly away!

11. You won't get arrested for leaving your bird in a cage all day and/or home alone for longer than usual if you decide to have a spontaneous night out!!

Edit - I love kids, really, I worked with 6-12 year olds at a summer camp for 4 years. And I'm excited to be a mom. Like, 10 years from now

DAMN! That was actually one I meant to include but couldn't remember it when it came time to type! (it was supposed to replace the pregnancy one! LOL!)

I love the fact that they're ALWAYS happy to see me when I get home! I got home late last night - everyone was in bed and had left JJ in her cage. When I came in, she saw me and let out the loudest "EEEEEEPPPP!!!!!" I've heard in a LONG time! Kinda like, "MOM! Where've you BEEN! I've been WAITING here all NIGHT for you!"

I concur with the cage thing...you still feel guilt, but you won't get arrested!

Actually, no, it's not because she'll read it. She really is a pretty perfect kid. I think it's from the early beatings and being locked in the closet on a regular basis.
