| For over 20 years, I was a devoted PC/Windows slave. Then about 18 months ago, after much soul searching, research, prodding, and not a few sleepless nights, I decided to make the jump to a Mac. I have never been so happy with a change in my life! I am now as devoted to the Apple hardware and OS as I was "the other guys."
So like many others out there, I've been anxiously awaiting the release of iOS 5 and the new iPhone, which we all now know is the 4S. I followed the press conference live (kinda) when Apple released all of it's new toys, and have been socking money away for a couple of months to get the new phone as soon as I can. (I don't want the entry level phone this time, I want as much memory as I can afford! LOL!)
Anyway, I FINALLY have the time to myself to sit and update my phone to iOS 5!!! I'm sure nobody else is as excited about this as I am, but I've been reading about all of the enhancements for weeks, and following the rumors for close to a year now, so it's really pretty exciting to finally see it happening!
If anyone cares (and hasn't done it themselves already), I'll tell you all about it when I'm finished! Like I said, If you're not someone who gets excited about stuff like this, you'll have no idea why this is a big deal ... much the same way that non-bird people have no idea why we get excited about new color mutations, new words our birds say, or even about the fact that our bird will FINALLY "step-up" when we ask them to. But hey, it takes all kinds, right? If it weren't for people like us, some species of birds would have already gone extinct, and if it weren't for people like me, Apple would have had no reason to make the tremendous technological advances they've made so far.
You can debate whether they're necessary, but my goodness, they're FUN FUN FUN!!!!!

| You really know how to write a subject line that makes me click!
My Phone, alas is an Android and my iPod Touch may be too old to update to the new OS. I hope Santa can afford to get me an iPad for the holidays this year.

| I love Macs and iPhones and other Apple products. SO excited to get the iPhone 4S! My fiancé already has the iOS5 on his phone, and it's pretty sweet. Gotta say though, some design aspects do remind of a Windows phone | |

| I'm fine with my iphone 3Gs.
Me and my sister got the phones dirt cheap, and my parents pay my bill.

| I still have the original 3G. I would love to upgrade but I have this brightly colored child that hates me and is sucking up any disposable income left over by my other family members! | |

| She's seen the light! I just got the 4S yesterday, which is my first-ever smartphone after using the same LG nothing-but-numbers phone for 3 years. It's like going from a paper airplane to an F15. I'm as die-hard a Mac fan as anybody, but hopefully this phone will be with me many a year, I can't afford to be one of the updates-as-soon-as-they-come-out fanboys. I've had my intro super-basic MacBook almost 5 and still has a 6 hour battery life and runs like I just brought it home. Those PC pushers just don't know what they're missing | |

| I'm so happy there are others out there! I bought my iPhone (3Gs) about 2 years (ish) ago, then we bought a MacBook Pro about a year ago. Then, my son got a summer job and started saving money, and his Grandparents and we contributed a little and HE bought a 21" iMac! Now THAT gives me computer envy! I haven't bought the new phone yet, just updated the OS on my old one, and if you haven't done it yet, you should. There are some nice enhancements that just might make your old phone feel like a new one, even if it isn't. I'll write about some of those enhancements when I'm not writing on said phone! Lol! And Roger, this would be a good time to upgrade to at least a 3GS. They're free with a contract and are quickly becoming the lower limit standard for app developers. If it were me, I'd try to make the jump and get in on a 4. You can find them really cheap right now too (and they'll only go down in price). We bought my son a refurb 3GS for 19.00 at the beginning of this year. The only thing that didn't appear new about it was the packaging. Otherwise it was pristine (until he got ahold of it!). 10:1 says you'll be able to get deals like that on the 4's in January. Lyz, I am sooooo jealous! Your phone probably will last you several years... Just don't drop it! Mine would be lasting me longer, but we only bought the version with 6GB of memory... And I need a LOT more. Especially if my hubs isn't going to let me get an iPod. (No people, I do not own an iPod!)

| I'm still SOOOO behind in technology with phones/computers. My desktop is a rebuild from about 5 or 6 years ago..it has a hard disk drive & I think a floppy disk drive in it - if you remember what those are My laptop is the new SOny Viao that seems to be in all the movies I watch these days - so I'm sort of cool! My phone is a normal cell phone. I think it can play the radio & MP3's, and I text with the keypad. NO fancy touch screen phone here. In January we'll be changing over to Telus as my company has a great deal with them and our current contract expires at that time. Husband will get a fancy I-Phone thing, and I'll get whatever I get I might have to indulge though as I'm totally not the cool kid in my groups of friends with their fancy phones. I want an I-Phone thing as it does the COOL Star Trek door entering sound (one of my friends has it when she gets a text) - I could text Husband and he could totally be the old Picard...or the new Captain Kirk if I want to Cougar it | |

| I am a PC/Android user but the rescue uses Apple only. John just git his 4S and loves it. I do know there was a huge stir over the weekend because they upgrade to Lion and it completely screwed their Quicken app info. Just a forewarning.... | |
