Here are the few pics of Sushi I have, taken with my phone. Her cere leads me to believe Sushi is a she, but she is very unlike the hens of my past. She is super mellow, quiet, and laidback. She is unlike any budgie I have ever seen, honestly. Now that she is around the whole flock, she has really taken to Sparrow. During play time she flies to his cage and perchs inside. He sits next to her and they just.....sit. They preen and cuddle. Then when she is done, she flies home. They are good buddies. He is so gentle with her, and it is a riot to see her little beak preen him.

Finally Very Happy

She/he (whatever) Sushi is cute.
Looking at my budgies, all of them have different personalities, Mango is the wild one, Plum is the crazy one, and Blues is the most tame one. Blues is female and before she matured, she was real devil:)
I hope Sushi will stay so good. I also see a big difference with a couple of budgies and one budgie around other species of birds. In the second option single budgie around seems to be less "on the cracks" and more social, but that's only my experience...

SnS, yes!

Piper loves Cheney Bird and often preens him. He only started hanging out with me to be closer to Cheney Bird. I think budgies and GCCs make great pairs, at least from what I've seen.

She's beautiful! And I'm SOO glad that Sparrow has someone to sit by! JJ would love that... She LOVES to preen but she wants to be preened in return. Bucky will let her preen his head, sometimes... when he's in the mood... and the stars are aligned right... and there's no wind... and it's an odd day of an odd week of an even month in an even year... But even then, when she's finished and she ducks her head for her turn, she's lucky if she gets ignored. She's more likely to have him bite at her.... maybe I could find someone who has a budgie and we could just be preening partners? LOL!

I'm happy for you Jules! That's pretty cool!

Thanks guys, we are all pretty keen on her. The lovebirds like to return her few little warbles a day and Sparrow very much enjoys her company. She seems to like my oldest son best human wise. She will perch on his finger much longer then she will mine. She is still pretty flighty, but not in a scared/untame way.
