| Haven't heard much about her lately. Since I dreamed about my husband kidnapping a GCC last night, made me think about her. | |

| LOL! Allie-gator! That's so cute! I never even thought of that one! She's doing amazingly well, thanks for asking! She's started saying "step-up" and making kissey noises, and unless she's eating, her favorite place to be is on my shoulder. She'll be perched on my shoulder, and if she gets hungry she'll fly down towards her cage, climb the ladder to the bottom of her cage, then climb the cage bars up to her food dish and eat till she's full. When she's finished she'll climb up to the top of the cage and either stay there and play for a bit (she has a play top), or cross over to Caesar's cage (which is taller) and use it as a take-off point to fly back over to me. It's really cute and shows amazing intelligence and ingenuity as far as I'm concerned. She goes with me everywhere. I went to dinner with my bosses the other day after work and they seemed a little surprised that I was bringing Allie with me. If I'm going somewhere really nice (hardly ever?), I'm clearly not going to take her, but the restaurants around here we're likely to frequent are casual enough that if I put her in her bag (it's a "doggie bag" that I line with paper towels), nobody ever notices she's there. Plus she's been traveling in the bag since she came home with me so it's like a second home to her... she doesn't mind it at all. If the restaurant is busy at all I'll leave her in her bag, but if it isn't I'll usually let her out so she can be on my shoulder. She likes it better that way and people are usually happy to see the bird behaving so nicely. At this point she seems to like me even more than JJ did. I don't know if it will last, but I'm enjoying it now. | |
