Well, I feel like ranting about how awesome Einstein is.
He is the perfect bird for me. He's a great singer and fantastic dancer (never misses a beat!).
I read your posts about how you've got birds with behavioral issues (screaming, destroying, plucking, aggression, biting, etc). But Einstein really doesn't have these issues. But then again, he is only two. He could always change.
I've found that the older he gets, the better behaved he is. He had an issue in the past with not liking his back touched. But with simple encouragement (he isn't treat motivated, but is motivated by attention) I can now lay him on his back in my hands for several seconds. I've read that cockatiels don't generally like to be on their backs, so I take this as something to be proud of.
In the past he also had an issue with trying to mate with my hand, but using positive reinforcement (if he tried, he'd get the cage) that habit is dead and gone.
Because of my schedule at school, some days I spend the whole day at home, and others I spend from 8am-8pm at school. He is used to this change and seems perfectly adjusted to it. I think with some of the more neurotic species, this would be hard on them. Einstein has all the toys he could ever want. And I have proof in the shreddings that while I'm gone his mind is preoccupied.
He is so affectionate. I've heard Roz say they are perch potatoes. This is so true of Einstein. He loves sitting in bed with me. The crook between my neck is the perfect place for him to snuggle. the best thing in the world is feeling their warm little feet on your skin while huffing those feathers.
I think I'm done....for now.

Me and Einstein train each other.
He's taught me this one trick. When he's done cuddling and is either hungry, thirsty or tired, he flies to the ground, starts walking to the bird room. He stops mid way, looks at me, and that's my cue to pick him up and take him to his cage.
You know, he's completely flighted and everything. This is how he chooses to get things done.
Silly Bird.

He's seems to be a well behaved, well adjusted little fid! You are a great Mom!
You have PLP Syndrome. I caught it and look where I am now...

Chico was sleeping on my leg already, but handsome Einstein woke her up immediately! She asked me to say hi to him and to tell him that she finished already 1 year
