Introduction of Skittles - Sun Conure

Skittles came to me from his first family when he was about 15 months old. His first family bought him on a whim because he was sooo pretty. They couldn't stand his screaming and nipping. I knew the grandma of this family and one day she asked me if I wanted a Sun conor. I said what is it?? she said a parrot. I said YES!! So I received Skittles, his cage and all his toys. they just wanted to make sure he went to a good home. I have been sooo blessed!!

So Skittles and I fell in love the first minute. He also liked my daughter and granddaughter when they visited U N T I L !! One day my daughter gave me a shoulder rub. She finished, got up and started down the hall. Skits attacked!! Landed on my daughter's head and bit her twice on her eyebrow. It was nasty! From that day to this, Skits is in the cage when they visit. We have tried to have my daughter feed him treats but that has only helped a little, so Skits remains in the cage.

As you can see from the picture, Skits, as most Suns do, loved to be down my shirt. He also sleeps with my sometimes. I can not roll over and sleep almost sitting up - so there is no danger.

Oh, he no longer screams all day. He does at daybreak and sundown as normal, and once in a while if something startles him. He says a few words - Hello(when the phone rings), thank you, Stop it, and he use to call my dog Oscar -that was too cute. Oscar passed a year ago and Skittles has stopped the calling.

he is a cutie...i love my sun...he flies to me as soon as i enter the bird room...suns are a treat to have for sure

He's a beautiful bird!!! We just got two baby Suns in at the store where I work - I'm having a BLAST feeding and loving on them... they are a treat for sure!

As the flock would say, "Pretty Bird!"

Thanks. I am of the opinion that Sun's are one of the prettiest parrots. I am sure others will disagree, but too bad - they are wrong! LOL

Yes Skits flys to me the minute he is let out of the cage. He also flys to me everytime I get up and start walking. Can't be left out of anything!

I would have gone for one if they weren't so loud! They are beautiful, as are Jendays.
