Well, as you know I just acquired a new budgie.

Bonnie seems extremely lonely to me. Madoc and Clyde are very strongly bonded, always regurgitating, preening and fussing over each other. I often find Bonnie masturbating and seems to be chasing after Einstein. Einstein is a baby, and is scared of anything with feathers. So caging them together is out of the question.

I did have plans with GlassOnion about taking her Spice, but I haven't heard from her for a while, so I have no idea if that is still going to happen. (She is still welcome if you read this Anita!)

That is why I went out and bought this little guy.

He seems to be doing really well, despite the 'injury'. His dropping seem perfectly normal and healthy. He has a really good appetite, not even Einstein was that confident eating and drinking during his first week. I also caught him playing with his toys, which is surprising to me. I'm taking all these to be signs that he isn't dying of blood loss. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

I think he's got a lot of energy. He really isn't as calm as Madoc was when I first brought her home. He is a lot more wary of me and it takes some time for him to calm down after taking him out of his cage.

His heart lies in millet. After I offer him millet, he happily steps up for me. He even let me give him scitches!

I finally thought of a name for him - Storm.

You can't tell with the pictures, but those white areas aren't white. They're light yellow. His colors are greyish/mauve, like storm clouds. To me, he looks like sunlight breaking through the storm.

More updates:

1- Very vocal. Contact calling the other birds.

2- Bathing. I've caught him jumping into his water dish.

3- Jumping and fluttering and playing. He's not very stationary. It isn't fearful, but playful. Chewing on the perches and on the toys.

4-Preens himself.

Plus, he'll do this in front of me, and when I'm not in the room.

I think he's doing just fine Smile
