Got myself banned from that other site yesterday,Josie too.Some one was looking to get in touch with vicki#s and i mentioned this site.

If he's that anal about people coming here you KNOW he knows this is a good place and doesn't want to lose traffic. Either that or he holds one hell of a grudge. I've gone back and perused once or twice when there were no updates here, but I honestly don't even get that much out of the threads there. You guys are for more entertaining, anyway

Sigh. My hunch is he's hoping to make real money from it at some point. Not so much the site itself, but the training advice and toys and such.

I experienced a similar dynamic on a horse related site -- can't remember if I've told this story here or not yet. Was a trainer's website but a real community had developed around it. The trainer himself seemed OK, but his wife Admin'd the site, and she went nonlinear on a regular basis. That one fell apart when a number of people had been banned, PMs had been read, posts had been deleted and, finally, they decided to start charging $5 a year to be a member. One of the members set up an alternative site, and it's going strong a year and a half later. I think the original site is still there but almost 100% of the folks who had become friends over the years are on the new site.

SnS i think your right but , what ever.I didn't mention this to "stir the pot" but the whole affair did catch me off guard.I guess you girls are perceived as a real threat or i intimidate the hell out of him.

I actually agree with that. I have no desire to make money off this forum, but I would eventually like to own and operate a parrot related business. I understand charging for toys and the like since they take time, money and effort to produce. But to think you're going to make money off a forum and your training advice is silly.

I have rarely posted there and I am banned I sent him an e-mail to that effect and no response so far. I did also mention that his having read my PM to 2 different people was more than insecure as none of the content had been reported nor had I. Sure glad he doesn't work for the Post Office......

I really liked the parrot forum, or at least the people there... so glad this forum exists now!

It was a free flight list. I shouldn't have said moderated "off" as I don't think he was kicked off - no one's ever kicked off that list. He was moderated so all his posts needed to be approved before being sent to the list and I don't think he posted again after that.

Is it a good list? I'm very interested in freeflight for down the road. Can I have it?

Capt, let me get this straight: You and Josie both got punted from the entire forum for providing another member with a way to contact Vicki, when they specifically asked for this information? That is truly messed up! Is he that paranoid about losing members? I will admit that I have checked in on the site and read posts, but I have not posted since shortly after Paradise was founded. It hasn't had the same feel there for quite a while (almost like a police state, you have watch what you say or he might find out).

Given the military-like vehemence with which he is patrolling that site, has anyone given any thought to fact that he may try something here in retaliation? I know, I am getting paranoid now too! But given his actions of late is it that big a stretch? I even hesitated posting this comment here at first, in case he might troll over here and read it. How sad is that? Every day I am more and more glad to be here in Paradise. Vive la Resistance!

NO Roger, they didn't ask for vicki#s ,i volunteered it.I suggested they PM her,but if they had trouble to try her here(this site).Mistake i guess.I have never suggested to anyone they leave that site,but i don't see the isssue with belonging to more than one site,i'm on several.
