Really, I was SO shocked to hear that! I never would have guessed the Cap'n is fond of Jake! I don't have a favorite, but my relationship is different with the two. Since Scotty is technically not mine, I try to hold back a bit, but he is really incredibly charming and I am very fond of him. Scooter is mine, and he's so affectionate and fun, but hes also kind of a pain at times.... he's my birdie buddy, though. I dunno. I don't love them equally, but I do love them equivalently, I think. Oh dang. I miss 'em.

So is Cheney Bird. Such a pain, especially today. I love all of my birds equally and I would be devastated if I were to lose one. But I love them all for very different reasons. Cheney Bird is my baby and cuddle buddy. Pigpen is a misbehaved little rat with wings, but she's my misbehaved rat. Piper is my little loudmouth. They may be trying sometimes, but I wouldn't change anything about them.

| I had to think about this some before I could answer it. My initial response would have been to say that JJ is my favorite, but when I think about Bucky, I start arguing with myself. I really think I love them both pretty much the same. The only difference is that JJ is just easier to love. She wants to be with me as much as she can. She's just *with* me. She'll play, talk, roll around, and give the occasional play nip, but she's easy and she wants to be with ME whereas Bucky wants to be by himself a lot and be with me sometimes. And when he IS with me, he's preening me - by pulling my hair and trying to remove the freckles from my face and numerous other uncomfortable ministrations - OR he's making an offer of regurgitated food - OR he's biting me cause I just pet a pin feather the wrong way. He can be hard to love sometimes, but I really really do. | |

| I protest...this is NOT a fair question. I treat every one of my birds differently and no I don't love them equally. I give the most attention to the ones that need it the most at the time. When in training, recovery, rescue, breeding or feeding...... they all need different things and i do my best to meet that, I fail at times and spoil at other times. When jealousy rears it's ugly head I do my best to just ignore the offender then when I have the time they seem to appreciate the one on one time much more...and believe me I have to deal with that ugly little head often, especially with new rescues and babies. | |

Don't be sorry LOL my protest was very tongue in cheek . It did make me realize that I am not nearly as fair as I would like to think though....

| 4 actually...all 4 are in my bedroom all 4 rescues...Stacie (YN) my first love and my forever girl she is sassy hard headed and a snuggle bug all at the same time. Missy Kong (Panama) she is quiet and is somewhat bossy when the others get a little into the how loud can you say that, and a little nosey always wanting to know what you are doing. Mickey (RL) he is quiet and shy a little broken old man with a secret, when he calles honeeeey I am lost. and Binkie (YN) she has all of the frenetic energy of a child the night before Christmas. She wants desperately to hold and be held but is totally unsure of how it is going to work she will be a leech when she figures it out ( I can't wait). So in all unfairness that is the inner circle. not quite 10% | |

LOL. Are you saying that because you mean it or because she can read it? Just kidding! I want 3 kids. My favorite will be the one who loves their father and I enough (and has a good enough job) to support us through retirement. And not shove us in a retirement/nursing home.

| Did you know it annually costs $11,000 on average to raise a child, and $200,000 for 18 years? Think of all the travelling you could do wit that $$... | |

LOL. Are you saying that because you mean it or because she can read it? Very seriously - I mean it. I used to want 4 or 5 kids. EC was SUCH an easy baby and child. We decided all others would be measured against her so that wouldn't be fair to them.

I'd take the kid, if it were a choice between the two for my entire life. Not NOW of course, waaaaaayyyyy too young and broke and mostly young and not ready, but eventually... I'd so take the kid.

I don't have a choice now, but if I did, I would love to have a child too. It's kinda like maternal instinct, I think
