Worried about my kitty

Ah Tujunga! We have a few friends in that area Definitely a small world. When you said that the vet in the video was your vet I knew you couldn't be that far from where he lived. Montrose isn't a very common name. lol

I've been having a lot of small world experiences lately. I reconnected with a high school acquaintance (she was, like, most likely to succeed and I was, like, most likely to die of terminal nerdiness) via a post on a FB group for my FL homewown. She wrote me and said, hey, I'm sitting here with a green-cheeked conure sitting on my head! (I told her about this place). Then she told me she had lived in Tujunga before they moved to Florida in the early 70s and the address was literally a block or two from our current house.

I've been reading and following... I wish I had something to add - something brilliant, poetic, comforting, helpful... but I don't really have any of that. All I can say is that I'm sorry. I'm sorry that all of you are having to go through this at all, much less right now. You're all in my thoughts, you, Bill, Ariel, your other cats and your sitter. I wish there were more we could do.

Vicki you guys are doing a good thing to listen and be good ears and shoulders. I reallyh appreciate it.

Well, here we are in Furnace Creek. Just got a call from the sitter saying she thinks he's getting very critical. It seems unlikely he'll be there when we get home. We both feel terrible, but we did make this decision, that canceling this event wasn't practical. I had hoped he would hang in there until we got home, he had a few really good days, but now she says he is very weak. I am very sad, Bill is very sad, and he has a desert to cross. I hope Ariel isn't missing us, that's the one thing that makes me feel crappy.

Thanks. I hope it doesn't completely wreck the crossing for him, and I hope we don't feel guilty for the rest of our lives for not staying home. There was no easy answer.

Don't feel guilty. Guilt is for when you do something wrong. You guys didn't do anything wrong.

There are never easy answers. You both made the best decisions you could, and that's all anyone can do.

I can appreciate the feeling bad about what is happening, but you have done everything you can for Ariel. Please try not to feel guilty as well. Good luck to you and Bill! Hang in there!
