I think Doppler's going to be coming into the living room tonight... I even put Piper in the same cage with Pigpen on the same day I got him. I hadn't intended to, but I left his cage door open to see if he'd come out. Next thing I knew, he was latched to Pigpen's cage and screaming through the bars. I felt bad and let him in to meet her.

| Doppler is in the livingroom. Now he and Poe shriek at each other from across the room. In one grand evening of introducing Doppler to the living room I learned: I need to get him a window perch, he ALSO believes the back of the couch is the greatest play area EVER (It's Poe's favourite place), 'tiels like goldfish crackers (he snatched one right out of the hub's hand and bolted down the couch!), 'tiels like straws (also snatched from the hubs), cat trees are also good bird trees, and the South Park theme song is absolutely AWESOME to sing along to! He's great | |

| LOL! I think I'm going to hold out for a little hand-raised 'tiel to join Blanco when we get settled in the new place. I want to have the experience of a bird that's been raised right and not had the opportunity to get messed up in between! Plus, I'm finding him quite fun to have around, Soooo much less complicated than the other two. | |

| As a teen I had a few budgies and a handfed 'tiel named Kaz. He was absolutely, undeniably, the sweetest little guy EVER. Poe's pretty sweet, but Kaz didn't have Poe's moodiness or stubborn attitude towards things.
Much as I adore Poe, I am looking forward to the day that Doppler is completely calm and tame (he's still a bit nervous - though he now steps up while in his cage) and.... uncomplicated. Preening and snuggles with no nips and beaks and squawks for scritching the wrong way ... *sigh*

| So, the hubby and I both ended up getting out of work a few hours early yesterday and decided to use that time to drive down to ND and get the cages. We only put the walls on backwards once.... Yes, I made them hand painted signs for their new homes... They are birdie PALACES. I was also super entertained when I opened the box holding the harness, boing and perches only to discover .... a bag of mini chocolate bars and toys! I laughed quite heartily on the drive back from ND, eating mini Snickers bars. mysafebirdstore is DEFINITELY awesome! | |

| I think those signs are the best... for those late nights out when you're too toasted on millet to remember which branch to perch on... | |
