| I think this has been discussed before, but we have some new members so I'm bringing it up again. The room where the birds will be housed in our new home is carpeted. I'd hoped to be able to replace that flooring right away, but I think we are going to have to defer that. Also the flooring in my "studio" which is potentially an even worse place for carpet. But I digress.
What's your favorite solution from keeping door-perch poop and flung sticky food from completely wrecking carpet? I'm thinking those big plastic things designed for office chairs, with the small easy to wash rugs I currently use over the hardwood.
That and vacuuming every single day without fail...
What's your solution? | |

| We were using acrylic underneath the cages...until we replaced it with Linoleum a bit over a week ago But it worked fabulously for the poop areas. | |

| I gave up caring about my carpet. It's trashed and I no longer care. I'm ripping it out as soon as I can and it's going in the garbage. A short term solution (if you need one) would be to use the sticky carpet runner stuff you can buy at Lowe's or Home Depot. It's easier to clean than carpet. I'd cover the whole darn room with the stuff if I had it to do all over again. | |

| the cheap and effective method I have used is black trash bags cut down 1 side and the bottom...just pick it up and toss it out...the really cheap ones work just as good as the others and they are so handy to use | |

| Oh, yes, never responded - just sheet acrylic laid on the floor until you can replace the carpet with linoleum.
We FINALLY just replaced the carpet in our new-to-us-house with linoleum (original 1989 carpet), and what we found underneath...it was pretty nasty. Bird room is much nicer with sweepable floors (but so echo-y)! | |
