| Hey! Jack's plucking looks good. Hes slowly moulting normally right now....and his feathers on his chest are growing in well, but his back doesn't look so good. I'm kind of worried that he damaged the follicles and they wont grow back. Its nothing but grey fuzz. Aside from that, hes acting hilariously cuddly and needy. I had him with me while I was on the computer the other day, and I couldn't write my e-mails just because of how cuddly he was being. Demanding constant headrubs, and beak-butting my nose, and trying to dig his way in under my arm. The poor boy missed me I think! I don't know how my next rotation out is going to go. I slept in another room last night so he wouldn't wake me up at 6 am. As a result, it was my mum that uncovered him in the morning....he was frantic. I think he thought I had abandoned him again! My poor baby! | |

My poor baby! Maybe that's part of the reason he's plucking? Stress of the abandonment? I know there's not much you can do about you leaving, but maybe some sort of ritual the day before you leave that leaves him in a positive state; and some sort of ritual the day you return? That way he's cued as to when you leave and when you're back for awhile? Might help him mentally. Sounds like he doesn't know right now and that might be causing him some stress. SnS - That "might" help Scoo Scoo, too; but I dunno. Scoo Scoo's behavior is mind boggling. | |
