| Well it's only fair....I chose our current trio (pre-Husband) - Husband would like a Blue & Gold Macaw (I'm ok with that). I would add a Cape parrot, as Merlin once had a Cape gf when I worked with parrots, and they're more his size. So that would be Merlin's Dream Weaver parrot then Merlin was my dream parrot from the get go! | |

- ROZ!! How on Earth did you not get a noise complaint?
One person across the alley did complain; but like I said, he was a cranky ol' curmudgeon. He'd yell at kids playing in the alley. My birds weren't "screamers". The toos I encouraged to scream mid day when most people (except Mr. Kranky Pants) were at work so they didn't do a lot of am/pm screaming. The conure didn't really scream a lot. The CAG . . . I guess people thought I had a lot of malfunctioning appliances. I don't mind noise, but in general we don't tolerate a lot of noise from any of our animals. My dogs don't sit and just bark their fool heads off either - the chihuahua is not yappy, the four other large dogs don't bark unless there's something amiss. I think why some people might have noise issues is they try to keep the animal quiet all the time which is not achievable. We understand vocalizing is normal and we let them go off at max volume every day for limited periods; but enough is enough, and then we shush them. They're pretty receptive to that. They learn they can scream their heads off for a while and then be done. My house is actually pretty quiet considering all the animals. . . except for the CAGs that mimic most of the day. Oh yeah - and also the cocktoo horse. He goes off randomly which gets really annoying.

| My parents bought me a quarter horse, and a thoroughbred.
I used to just walk up to the quarter horse, jump on, no saddle, no reins and just have him walk around. He was the calmest horse I've ever met.
My parents decided that having horses wasn't really a good investment. We went across the country for Christmas one year, and on Christmas day they told me they sold both horses.
Not even a chance to say good bye.
But I swear, I'll buy another horse one day.

Second week already I'm searching Internet for making my bird room soundproof for reasonable price for that one dream bird: Amazon. I know it's crazy, but I know you'll understand me guys

| Well, as long as we're dreaming... I'd have a separate aviary so I could have my birds AND my husband, because I love them both. <3 Or, my husband would go deaf, then I could have the birds in the house! Now There's an idea! Anyway, moving on... I'm falling in love with conures. Their wacky personalities just keep me wanting more, and I do. I also love my Quacker ( ), but I just found out that I think they may be illegal in colorado. shhh! So I don't know that I'd go in that direction. The definite "next" on my list is an Ekkie. Prefer a male, not sure which sub species at this point. I'm also intrigued by the Amazons. (I wonder why?) If I could live my dream, I'd breed conures (not sure which ones at this point), and have a M&F Ekkie, a GCC (or three), and a large macaw (the scarlet is my fav) as pets. I'd also have a (small) barn full of Rocky Mountain Horses. (Google them.) Unfortunately, few people ever get to live their dream, but I'm amazingly happy living the life I am. Oh yeah, ZaZa, regarding the horse situation? I wasn't there, and thus am in no position to pass judgement. Nevertheless, I don't agree with the way your parents handled it. I'm sorry.
